We visited the heart and soul of the “Great State of Texas”; the uniquely charming Texas Hill Country. Starting in San Antonio with margaritas and a barge ride, we met up with our catering friends. The following day we hopped on the bus for a fast paced four fun filled days, as we “two-stepped” through the countryside. We experienced wineries, held a Bald Eagle, and compared Texas BBQ styles. We participated in armadillo races, followed by dinner with Crave Catering. We stopped for a beer and experienced a day in Luckenbach, Texas, as immortalized in Waylon Jennings’ famous song. Next we threw on our boots and hats for a night at an authentic honky tonk. Attendees were able to experience a tamale making lesson followed by a full catering fabulous experience by Debbie Stein and Emily Simpson of Cartewheels Catering. We finished our trip in Austin and sampled their thriving hipster food truck scene.
